Hannah Heath, Ph.D. Student
Hannah Heath is a human nutrition PhD student at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC). She utilizes multi-omics methods to investigate the molecular underpinnings of health disparities experienced by lung and breast cancer patients.
As an undergraduate, Hannah worked at the Cal Poly Metabolomics Service Center, where she focused on semi-targeted metabolomics data processing. As a PhD student, she is continuing to pursue her interest in metabolomics through training at the UIUC Metabolomics Core.
Outside of her metabolomics work, Hannah works to increase diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within STEM through leading mentorship and training opportunities. She serves as a mentor to undergraduate women in her lab, organizes peer mentoring events within her department, and co-facilitates her university’s Disability Ally Training. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing and tabletop gaming.
